Layouts vs Overlays
💬 What is the difference between a layout and an overlay?
Overlays are individual windows you can open on demand. Layouts are a single, span-all-screens window that contains multiple overlays you have arranged together.
Overlays
- Open individually or auto-open: Launch any overlay when you need it, or set it to auto-open when Racelab starts.
- Lock vs unlock: When locked (lock icon in the app), the window ignores mouse input and can be transparent; when unlocked, you can drag it and Racelab remembers its position.
- Per-screen flexibility: Place each overlay on the display you want without affecting others.
Layouts
- One canvas across monitors: A layout is one big window that spans your screens; place, resize, and stack as many overlays inside it as you like.
- Profile-based: Save multiple layouts but only one is active at a time.
- Auto-switch: Activate layouts with selectors (car, series, etc.) so the right arrangement loads automatically.
